Merry Christmas from Glee (video)

Glee's Jane Lynch takes on the network suits at Fox with some ideas for better programming. She's also got some  very special Christmas gifts for the kids in the cast, a basket of sick kittens. Matthew  Morrison makes a special cameo appearance.

Classic Comedy: Gilda Radner as "Rhonda and the Rhondettes" Bemoans the FDA Ban on Saccharine (video)

Long, long ago, in a decade far, far away (the 70's), the FDA banned the artificial sweetener, saccharine, as a cancer causing agent. Apparently, if you feed what would be the human equivalent of 10 lbs. a day of the stuff to lab rats, they get cancer. Shortly after, the EPA listed saccharine as a hazardous material.

In the devastating aftermath, millions of weight-conscious single women nationwide took to their beds and gave up on ever landing a husband.

After a few years, the FDA cleared saccharine and returned it to the market and the single females of America rejoiced. They still got fat after Haagendas and Ben and Jerry's hit the market in the 80's, but at least they once again had their saccharine-laced diet sodas to wash it all down with.

After more than three decades, this week the EPA finally took saccharine off its list, so you no longer need to don a haz-mat suit to clean it up when you spill some on the counter. In honor of this momentous event, I bring you the comic genius of Gilda Radner, one of the original Not Ready For Prime Time Players from SNL. This clip is from her one woman Broadway show, Gilda Live.  Yes, that's Letterman's side kick, Paul Schaeffer, as rock promoter Don Kirschner.

Does this TSA Full-Body Scan make my butt look big? (reader poll and video)

I posted this pic on FaceBook over the weekend, which prompted some fun discussions about the choice facing many holiday travelers this week. You could be randomly selected by airport security for a full body scan, especially if something in your pocket, a body piercing or a medical implant triggers the metal detector.

But fear not, my intrepid travelers. If you don't want strangers looking at your junk, you can opt for an "enhanced pat-down", where a stranger gets to grope your junk.

Understandably, a lot of folks have a really big problem with both of these security procedures and with good reason. CNN reported this morning about a man with an ostomy bag, a surgically attached bag for collecting urine, that became ruptured during a pat-down. He had to continue his trip in urine-soaked clothes

There was another story about a woman with a prosthetic breast, who was made to remove it while being searched at an airport. There are also concerns about how children should be searched or scanned.

Some of the FaceBook comments said that it's worth the invasion of privacy to keep us safe. Others felt that their privacy rights were being violated. Whats' your opinion? Are you traveling by plane during the holidays and if so, which procedure would you choose?

Of course SNL had to weigh in on the controversy with their own pat-down PSA.

After 35 years on the air, Saturday Night Live has had as many highs as they have had lows, but when they get it right, they really nail it. This week the late night comedy staple took on the recent Brett Favre sexting scandal with hilarious results.

G.A.Y.S.: Guys Against You Serving (comedy video)

Rainbow flag flapping in the wind with blue sk...Image via WikipediaPresident Obama and the Democratic Congress has failed to deliver on their promises to the LGBT community. The clock has run out on this legislative session and there's very little chance that any movement on repealing DADT will be made during the post-election, lame duck session in December.

DADT Repeal is something that 80% of all Americans support. How in the world can a Democratic controlled senate allow itself to be bullied by John "Crotchety Old Man" McCain yelling at the neighbor kids from his front porch?

Call your senators at 202-224-3121 and tell them you won't forget their coardice and broken promises on election day.

Meanwhile, here's a funny take on a serious subject . A star-studded look at bigotry from Funny or Die.
